This morning was one of those time when I was reminded why I remain in partnership with the biblical worldview.
Current neuroscience has located an area of the brain that plays a key role in moral judgments. This region of the brain (right temporal parietal junction or RTPj) develops over time allowing us to make increasingly complex moral judgments as we age.
Thus the reality training up a child in the way he should go has a related physical structure. In other words this training actually changes the child.
Interestingly, application of magnetism to this region can affect moral choices.
These facts reinforce in me the idea that there is meaning inherent in physical structures and that we have the capacity to influence the which structures exist in us through thought and action.
Knowing this we see why governments are interested in thought control and would seek to make certain thoughts illegal. If certain thought patterns produce people that are no susceptible to the media machine and are able to see through the lies, these people will need to be neutralized with respect to their agenda.
The idea that there is a God that mandates His moral standard will always be frightening to those that are unwilling to submit. You cannot serve God and money at the same time.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
